This piece was inspired by a song I heard that made me think of my current partner. The song is called "Colo(u)rs" by KALLITECHNIS and it's lyrics highlight the feelings and senses that can arise when you are with someone. This song describes each of the senses from sound to sight and describes them as "my favorite colours." I wanted to emphasize these lyrics by drawing a portrait of my partner using some of my favorite colors. For the background, I chose to make it look like a lava lamp because I wanted to create a feeling of euphoria; similar to the euphoric, drug-like, feeling of being in love.
